The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan in SIP recently unveiled the plan to mark the International Museum Day, which is celebrated on May 18 globally every year to highlight the role of museums in education and research.

The Caoxieshan Culture Lecture will be held on May 18, when Prof. Xu Jian, deputy dean of the School of Cultural Heritage and Information of Shanghai University, will give the participants a talk on white pottery.

A learning camp will be opened this weekend, when the participating children and teenagers will visit two exhibitions about the protection of the Caoxieshan Site, learn knowledge on archaeology, and try to restore broken pottery ware.

The “Digital Caoxieshan” will be opened to citizens and tourists. It integrates digital twin, augmented reality and other digital technologies to give the visitors an immersive experience of the ancient everyday life that once occurred in this area.
