A number of night markets opened across SIP on June 28 as parallel events of the ongoing 2025 Jiangsu Football City League (JSFCL) which, dubbed the “Su Super League” by netizens, is scheduled in 13 cities in East China’s Jiangsu province from May to November.
These night markets represent a try that Suzhou is making to boost nighttime spending based on sports events. They are held at 13 sites first, including three in SIP.
On June 29, many people watched the football match between the Suzhou Team and the Yangzhou Team on the huge screen at Wenxing Square, while enjoying delicious snacks they bought from the surrounding stalls.
The night market at Modern Media Square provides not only various products, but also chances for visitors to showcase their football skills, and the one at Lakeside Square of Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre incorporates performances.
