A corgi named Pudding enjoyed a wonderful day in SIP: At 7 a.m., it trotted happily by Jinji Lake for morning exercises, then, following SIP’s pet-friendly map, it went shopping with its owner at Bicester Village Suzhou, and later enjoyed a customized drink at Shuize Service Station; in the evening, it joined the fashion show that was part of the Suzhou Pet Fashion Week.

Scenes of great harmony between pets and people can be seen across SIP every day. This farsighted modern industrial park has gone far beyond just being friendly to pets, but also offers them considerate care based on the increasingly thriving pet economy.

In recent years, SIP has been endeavoring to enrich and improve pet events which have shown good effect in fostering strong human-animal bond while stimulating consumption and promoting upgrading of pet care industry.

Last year, the Suzhou leg of the 2024 GO! BUDDY was held in Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort, where over 200 dogs and their owners competed in running races.

The first Suzhou Pet Fashion Week took place in the resort last month, attracting thousands of citizens and tourists. Another event themed pets and hairy crabs is scheduled there in the second half of this year.

SIP’s pet care market has upgraded from one with a few pilot sites such as bookstores and restaurants that allow pets inside to one composed of basic pet services such as leasing pet carts and providing pee pads for pets, and then to one featuring a specialized ecosystem for pets.

A number of projects such as the 2,000-square-meter theme park for pets in NānNān PARK and the 1,500-square-meter playground with a fully automatic ceiling system and the 500-square-meter swimming pool at Chongyun Lane are redefining the standard for friendliness to pets.

The huge demand for pet supplies and services in SIP has motivated many companies to accelerate their R&D and innovations.

“We plan to provide intelligent pet bath machines in communities around Jinji Lake to make cleaning and drying quick and easy for pets,” said the founder of a pet technology company.

In SIP, every pet is a participant in urban life.
