The Suzhou leg of the Douyin Football Carnival took place in SIP on June 27, attracting lots of people with its exciting football matches, funny interactions and amazing performances.
The Douyin Football Carnival, a folk football program jointly initiated by Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, and different local governments, is designed to offer football enthusiasts a platform to showcase their football skills.
The Suzhou leg started with a cuju (ancient Chinese ball game) competition and several interactive games where the winners gained gifts.
A stamp collection campaign went on at the same time, and the participants who had collected all the stamps by finishing the designated tasks could participate in a lucky draw.
A total of 16 teams competed in the 1v1 games. Each team consisted of a goalkeeper and his teammate. Each game lasted for four minutes. The team that scored more goals won, or the winner was determined by a penalty shootout in case of a draw.
The event was live-streamed online. After rounds of rivalries, Chen Yifan and Liu Hongguang emerged as the winners.
At the intervals of the rivalries, a number of online content creators showcased their football skills in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 games.
